A hot tub is a few hundred gallons at a hundred degrees shared by everyone who soaks, so it drifts faster than a pool and the doses are small. Bring a sample and we test it free, then tell you what to add in what order. Most spa problems come down to four things: sanitizer too low, pH off, a filter that needs a soak, or a fill that is three or four months old and ready for a drain.
Pool chemicals are sized for 20,000 gallons and live on the pool chemicals shelf. If the water is fine and the tub is not, the hot tub repair crew works on every major brand across Omaha, and if you are still shopping, seven Wellis models stand filled on the showroom floor.
A sanitizer (bromine tabs or dichlor, or the Frog @ease system), a non-chlorine shock, pH up and pH down, alkalinity increaser, test strips and a filter cleaner. That is the whole starter kit; we will put it together at the counter.
Bromine holds up better in hot water and is gentler on eyes and skin, so most tubs run bromine. Dichlor is fine too and cheaper. Do not switch between them mid-fill.
Cloudy is usually a dirty filter or low sanitizer; foamy is body oils and lotions. Clean the filter, shock, add Foam Down or an enzyme, and if the fill is more than three months old, drain and refill.
An enzyme-based, natural conditioner our technicians use in the tubs they maintain. It cuts the amount of sanitizer and balancer the water needs and is easy on skin.
