Why Renovate?

More than cosmetic — safer, cheaper to run, worth more.

  • Improved safety — cracks, leaks, and outdated equipment repaired
  • Energy efficiency — modern pumps, heaters, and lighting
  • Fresh style — new tile, coping, or liner
  • Increased property value and long-term durability
  • More comfort for family gatherings and outdoor living

Remodeling is also the moment to add slip-resistant decking, updated handrails and steps, automated covers, and modern filtration that cuts chemical use.

Is It Time?

Five signs an Omaha pool is ready for renovation.

  • Cracked or worn decking — loose, heaved or uneven concrete around the pool
  • Faded or outdated surfaces — a chalky, wrinkled or stained liner, or dated tile and coping
  • Inefficient equipment — a single-speed pump, an old filter or a heater that costs more than it should
  • Water loss or structural issues — topping up more than evaporation explains (we find leaks)
  • Outdated features — no lighting, no automation, no sun shelf, nowhere to sit

A sound shell with a tired liner and old equipment is the best renovation candidate there is: a new liner, pump and filter make it a new pool for a fraction of a build. We look at the walls, base and plumbing first and tell you honestly. Joni’s five signs, in full →

How It Goes

Four steps, no surprises.

1

Walk-through

We inspect the shell, base, plumbing and equipment and say what is worth doing and what is not.

2

One written plan

Liner pattern, tile, equipment by model, decking and lighting, itemized so you can change your mind before we start.

3

The work

Liners go from drain-down to swimming in a few days, weather permitting; tile, decking and equipment add days, not months.

4

Start-up

We fill, balance the water and walk you through care for the first weeks, and the same crew opens and closes it after.

A renovation is also the moment to set a Wellis hot tub on the new deck: the plumbing and the electrical get run once, and you soak twelve months a year.

FAQs

Pool renovation questions, answered.

What does a pool renovation include?

Whatever the pool needs and nothing it does not: a new custom-fit vinyl liner, tile and coping, surface refinishing, a variable-speed pump, a modern filter, a heater, a salt system, smart controls, LED lighting, handrails and steps, decking and an automatic cover. We write one itemized plan so you choose line by line.

Should I renovate my pool or just repair it?

If the shell, base and plumbing are sound, a renovation turns an old pool into a new one for a fraction of a build. If the problem is one failed pump or a small leak, a repair is the honest answer, and we will say so after the walk-through.

How long does a liner replacement take?

From drain-down to swimming is usually a few days, weather permitting. How a liner replacement goes →

Can you convert my pool to salt?

Yes. A salt chlorine generator goes in with the equipment upgrade, and we set the chemistry for the first weeks. Softer water, less chlorine to buy, and the salt cell gets cleaned on the service schedule.

Do you renovate pools you didn't build?

Yes. Liners, tile, equipment, heaters, decking and leak detection on pools of any age and any builder, across Omaha, Sarpy County and Council Bluffs.

When is the best time to renovate a pool in Omaha?

Fall, right after the closing, or early spring before the opening: the pool is already down, so the work costs you no swim days, and a liner ordered in winter is ready for the first warm week.

Is financing available for pool renovation?

Yes. Flexible financing through poolloan.net fits resurfacing, a liner, an equipment package or a complete overhaul into your budget, and every estimate is free.

Can I add a hot tub as part of the renovation?

Yes. With the deck open it is the cheapest moment to run power and a pad for a Wellis hot tub; wet-test one in the showroom and we deliver, set it up and service it.

Do you repair pool decking and re-caulk the expansion joint?

Yes, as part of a renovation. The caulk joint between the coping and the concrete deck is what keeps water out of the backfill behind the pool wall, and it dries out and splits over the years; we re-caulk it when we do coping, tile or deck work. Cracked, heaved or loose decking and pavers are replaced or re-set, and slip-resistant finishes, handrails and steps go in at the same time.
