A pool opening in Omaha is the closing in reverse. The cover comes off and gets folded, the plugs come out, the pump, filter, heater and chlorinator go back together, the lines are reconnected, the system is started and primed, and the start-up chemicals go in. Have the pool filled to mid-skimmer and the equipment out where we can reach it, and the crew does the rest.
Opening weeks run April through June, and earlier openings mean cleaner water and fewer chemicals. If the heater sat cold all winter or the pump sounds wrong on start-up, mention it when you book; repairs are handled by the service department and scheduled separately. Our pool closing service runs from the third week of August through the end of October across Omaha, Papillion, La Vista, Bellevue, Elkhorn, Gretna, Bennington, Ralston, Millard, Springfield, Waterloo and Council Bluffs. The crew blows out and plugs every line, drains the pump, filter, heater and chlorinator, adds the winter chemicals and sets your cover; the full picture is on the pool closing & winterization page and the do-it-yourself version is in our closing checklist.
Closing week is also the right time for two other jobs. A pool that lost water all summer gets leak detection before the cover goes on, and a tired liner is measured while the water is down so the new liner is installed first thing in spring. Hot tubs stay open all winter for most owners; a spa drain and clean is Plan 3 below if you would rather shut yours down.
Remove ladders, rails, and jets. Disconnect equipment, blow lines, add anti-freeze, install your safety cover, and add shock and algaecide.

From the third week of August through the end of October. The best time to close is once the water stays below about 65°F, usually early to mid October in Omaha, and always before the first hard freeze. Timing, what a close includes and what to do before we arrive are on the pool closing page.

Fill the pool to mid-skimmer and have the equipment out where the crew can reach it. Plugs, O-rings and caps on the equipment pad that have to be replaced to start the system are charged on top of the plan. Repairs found at start-up are scheduled separately with the service department.

Yes. A filter sand change is cheapest bundled with an opening or a closing and is recommended every two years; a city water fill line is winterized as its own plan at closing so the frost does not find it first. Both are on the booking forms above.
Yes. The spa drain and clean is Plan 3 on the closing form and the spa start-up on the opening form: the shell is vacuumed, wiped and sanitized, the electrical is safety-tested, the pumps assembled, the filters cleaned and the tub refilled and restarted. Repairs on any brand are handled by hot tub repair.
